Dear Aish Family,
Amongst my travels the past two weeks to many of the branches, I have also met with many members of the Board of Governors of Aish HaTorah. This group of people is really one of the brightest and most special that I have ever had the merit to work with.
The conversations have by and large been about Aish HaTorah and where we are going. I found myself over and over again paraphrasing the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland who says, “If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.” We need to stay focused at Aish on what our institutional destination is.
At Aish HaTorah, we have done so much over 40 years. We have been an incredible incubator for so many innovative projects to be created. Many initiatives have gone on to become vital organizations within the Jewish world. We have created thousands of Jewish leaders whose influence is felt in every molecule of Jewish life.
I believe that currently, we are entering a new phase of Aish HaTorah. I refer to it as Aish 2.0. We are restructuring and retrenching our resources to influence the world around us for the next 40 years. Over the next few months, we will be working very hard on setting a strategic direction for Aish HaTorah and I want to make sure that every member of the Aish HaTorah community has a voice. To that end, I would ask that everyone who has opinions and suggestions regarding how to improve Aish HaTorah to please email me your thoughts and dreams.
Aish was started on the premise that a few focused Jews can change the world. Our leader, Rav Noach Weinberg ZT”L, was one of the most creative and innovative minds to ever walk the planet. We must continue his legacy and continue to dream of ways that we can serve the Almighty and take care of His children. Please don’t be a spectator. At Aish, we believe that every Jew has a role to play and a place at the table of Jewish leadership. May the Almighty give us the strength to stay focused on achieving His will.
Warm regards and good shabbos!
