Dear Aish Family,

There is a story told of some families of Kohanim (Priests that served in the Temple) that had special abilities they used to serve the Almighty. Some of them refused to teach others how they performed their special skills. The Rabbis, of blessed memory, were very critical of these families. If one has the ability to serve the Almighty, it must be shared. We are one people, one nation and we must help each other come closer to the Almighty.

This is very much the vision for Aish HaTorah. We have over four decades of accumulated skills. We must share them far and wide. Just as a flame can light another flame and it loses nothing, so too if we share our strategies and approaches, the Jewish people will be all the more stronger and we will not be diminished.

It is in this spirit that I was proud to receive so many thank you emails for Rabbi Yitz Greenman’s Fundraising With Fire; Channeling Your Passion seminar. Aish HaTorah partnered with Hamodia and opened these classes up to the entire Jewish community. Many times fundraisers and Jewish organizations like to keep fundraising trade secrets “in house”. At Aish, we believe that we can build a stronger Jewish community if we are ALL strong.

I just want to leave you with one quote that I received this week from the leader of a fellow Jewish organization. “It is refreshing and revitalizing to see Aish constantly working to help all us “nonAish” people. I believe if you can keep this up, Moshiach won’t be far behind.” Indeed we all need to keep in mind that as Jews we are all connected and we must help each other. Nothing would give the Almighty more happiness than to see all of His children working together.

Warm regards and good shabbos!
